  • 1 Small Most Beautiful Rolls Royce Silvered Bronze Spirit Of Ecstacy Mascot After Charles Sykes.
  • This is a wonderful Rolls Royce car mascot.
  • Set on a small round carrara marble plinth.
  • In the Art Nouveau style of the flying lady statue.
  • Iconic piece.
  • Classic Spirit of Ecstacy originally by Charles Skyes Iconic work of art as found on the hood, bonnet of the Rolls Royce car.
  • Finished in silver plate over cast bronze which really adds to the look.
  • With lining under base.
  • Circa late 20th century 1970's.  
  • Bought from out of an impressive home in East Sussex.
  • Ready to display in your home.
  • Fabulous Christmas present.
  • No silver plate hallmark.  
  • 1kg approximate weight.
  • Set on a small pink marble base which is smooth.
  • Its free standing.
  • Offered in fine used condition.
  • Having wear and scratch marks also a very minor tiny chips on marble base.
  • The Spirit of Ecstasy is the bonnet ornament on Rolls Royce cars.  
  • Charles Robinson Sykes 18 December 1875 – 6 June 1950 was an English sculptor.  
  • Born in the North East of England in Brotton in Redcar & Cleveland.
  • Who was best known for designing the Spirit of Ecstasy mascot which is used on Rolls Royce cars.  
  • It is in the form of a woman leaning forwards with her arms outstretched behind and above her.
  • Billowing cloth runs from her arms to her back, resembling wings.
  • The Spirit of Ecstasy, also called 'Emily', 'Silver Lady' or 'Flying Lady'.  
  • Carries with it a story about a secret passion between John Walter Edward Douglas Scott Montagu Second Lord Montagu of Beaulieu.
  • After 1905, a pioneer of the automobile movement also editor of the car magazine from 1902 and his secret love and the model for the emblem, Eleanor Velasco Thornton.
