  • 1 Magnificent Large Roman Bust Augustus Caesar Terracotta Sculpture Display Bust.  
  • Highly detailed,vibrant & realistic.
  • With hand painted bronze verdigris style colour finish on the breast plate.
  • Made entirely from Terracotta.
  • It is heavy fine item,suitable for either indoor or outdoor display.
  • Circa late 20th century, 1970's.
  • This statue may of been used to feature in the the Only Fools & Horses episode A Royal Flush in 1986 as picture 12 shows an identical statue appeared in the famous show.
  • Though we do not have the provenance to confirm this..
  • Offered in rather fine used condition.
  • Having some wear,stain marks & 1 small hole in the back breastplate commensurate with usage & age.
  • Born 23 September 63 BC & Died 19 August 14 AD) he was the founder of the Roman Principate and considered the first Roman emperor controlling the Roman Empire from 27 BC until his death in AD 14  
  • He was born Gaius Octavius into an old and wealthy equestian branch of the plebeian gens Octavia. His maternal great-uncle Julius Caesar was assassinated in 44 BC, and Octavius was named in Caesar's will as his adopted son and heir, then known as Octavianus 
  • He rejected monarchical titles, and instead called himself Princeps Civitatis ("First Citizen of the State"). The resulting constitutional framework became known as the Principate, the first phase of the Roman Empire.
